Abizer Sakarwala is a highly motivated and hard-working individual with diverse and ever-expanding aspirations. After graduating high school he left his hometown of Rochester Hills, MI to pursue a BS in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He then spent a year working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in Vascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Afterwards, he moved down to Cincinnati, OH to obtain his MS in Physiology at the University of Cincinnati during which time he applied to medical school. He stayed at UC to earn his MD and matched into Diagnostic Radiology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. He completed his intern year at Beaumont in the Transitional Year Program, and then started his proper training in Radiology. His goal is to enter the specialty of Interventional Radiology, using the imaging knowledge gained to perform minimally-invasive procedures to treat a wide variety of conditions. He would like to pursue his MBA to understand the business of healthcare as well as learn about the field of finance. He hopes to one day open his own practice, hospital, and medical device/pharmaceutical company to achieve his life goals.
